Welcome — I'm Amanda Scott, a Transactional Analysis Counsellor based near Bradford on Avon in Wiltshire. I offer both in-person and online sessions for individuals and couples counselling, providing a safe, supportive space to explore life’s challenges.
Counselling is a powerful tool for self-discovery. Together, we can work to understand what’s holding you back and find new ways to navigate life with more clarity and confidence. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship issues, or simply want to understand yourself better—you are welcome here.
Before becoming a counsellor, I spent many years working in corporate and consultancy roles. But throughout my life, I’ve always been drawn to understanding people—what motivates them, how they think and feel, and how this impacts their relationships and wellbeing. That lifelong interest led me to discover Transactional Analysis (TA) and ultimately retrain as a TA Counsellor.
Now, I run my own private practice, supporting individuals and couples through a range of emotional and mental health challenges. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that change is possible for everyone.
I also have additional training in working with Autistic and ADHD clients, and I offer support in a neuro-affirming way—respecting and embracing neurodiversity.
Counselling can help you understand why you're feeling stuck or overwhelmed—and support you in building the tools to move forward.
If you’re ready to take the first step or would like to find out more, feel free to get in touch. I offer a free initial consultation so we can see if we’re the right fit.
Counselling offers a powerful space for self-discovery and gaining a deeper understanding of yourself. In our sessions together, we’ll explore the challenges you’re facing, how they affect your life, and look at their roots. From there, we can begin to help you build the skills and strategies needed to move forward. As your self-awareness grows, so does your ability to overcome what’s holding you back and create a more fulfilling, meaningful life.
At the heart of effective counselling is the relationship between therapist and client. It’s a unique connection built on trust, honesty, and safety. My aim is to provide a warm, non-judgmental environment where you feel supported—whatever you’re going through, as an individual or as a couple.
I offer counselling sessions both in-person and online, depending on your needs and preferences. I am based near Bradford on Avon, and also cover the surrounding areas including Trowbridge, Melksham, Bath and Chippenham and beyond. As part of individual sessions, I also offer walking therapy—an outdoors-based approach where we can walk and talk at your own pace, or simply find a peaceful spot to sit and reflect. For couples counselling, we would ideally meet in person.
Bringing the natural environment into our sessions can be incredibly grounding and can help ease the intensity of sitting face-to-face in a room or on a screen. Whether we’re moving or still, being outside often supports a sense of openness, calm, and clarity.
Walking therapy is available locally (near Bradford on Avon), and we’ll agree on a location that feels safe and comfortable for you. We would begin with a meeting on zoom.
Amongst the issues I work with (but am not limited to) are:
Information on location to follow.
TA101;
Foundation Certificate in Transactional Analysis;
Certificate in Organisational and Educational Transactional Analysis (Groups and Teams in the System);
Diploma in Transactional Analysis Counselling
(all from TA Works, Oxford)
Currently working towards Certified Transactional Analyst in the Counselling CTA (C)
I have monthly supervision with a TA Counselling supervisor (PTSTA (C). Regular supervision is an ethical responsibility and professional requirement, as it protects you, the client, whilst allowing a safe space for your therapist to explore confidentially the work you do together. It also ensures counsellors continue professional development during their practice.
I am a member of the ITAA (International Transactional Analysis Association), and adhere to their code of ethics. www.itaaworld.com.
and
IARTA (The International Association of Relational Transactional Analysis)
Accredited Member ACCPH (Association of counsellors, coaches, psychotherapists and hypnotherapists)
